“Rain Gardens for the Pacific Northwest” goes to Bellingham!

Vill Bks Come celebrate books and nature with me and Adrienne Ross Scanlan on Saturday, April 8 at Village Books in Bellingham!

This particular pairing is the awesome idea of our publishers at Mountaineers Books. Adrienne’s book Turning Homeward recounts her efforts as a citizen scientist to document the journey of urban salmon, and Rain Gardens for the Pacific Northwest shares all the reasons for building a rain garden — including saving salmon habitat.

Adrienne will read from Turning Homeward and I will follow with a presentation regarding the planning, design, and building of rain gardens. These two presentations illustrate, sometimes heartbreakingly, the struggles of our urban wildlife but also provide ideas and solutions for all of us to participate in relieving the struggle, and restoring our ecosystems.

If you’re in the Bellingham area, I do hope you’ll join Adrienne and I for this powerful hour!
